Christmas Season Donations

For those of you who will be making donations through the Christmas season, it is imperative that you think twice about where you put your hard earned funds. The volunteers of The Mary B. Mullen Bible Camp, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization, (aka Mullen Bible Camp) are asking that you give the camp your consideration. All monies donated to the camp will go toward the upgrade of the camp “in total” as there are no “paid” employees at the camp to date. Donations to national organizations, just because they are large businesses, do not mean that the monies go where you think they should be going. Ordinarily, most funds go toward paying large salaries of employees. So give careful thought to targeted donations.

Mullen Bible Camp is being refurbished by volunteers who have faithfully and freely given their time and service over the past few years. The camp now provides facilities including a large multi-purpose pavilion, a 42-bed dormitory, a chapel, showers, kitchen, dining room, office, and classrooms. Our current needs and “Wish List” include: resurfacing and fencing for the basketball court; clearing grounds for a soccer court; gutters and downspouts; computers; additional electrical circuiting; wall-mounted gas heaters, riding mowers; small roof repairs; road paving (or gravel) and completion of construction of block storage shed and separate outdoor cooking area.

The camp may now be rented for family reunions, special programs, camping, summer retreats, picnics, meetings, campfire ministries and youth mission work projects. Contact Yvonne Gordon, at or phone 828-625-0966.

Please make donation checks payable to “Mullen Camp Fund,” and mail to Ruth Freeman, Treasurer, 1773 Bills Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC 28746.
